Owners Representative - Construction Project Manager

Medline Industries, Inc. has an immediate opening for an Owners Representative ? Construction Project Manager.? The Project Manager will plan, coordinate, manage, and field-inspect all activities connected with the construction and improvements of Medline?s existing and new construction distribution centers.??This position will report to?the Area Vice President of Construction Projects?and will manage the conceptual development of a construction project, its organization, scheduling, and execution.

Generally that will include, but is not limited to, planning, bidding, coordinating, scheduling, document review, preparing and negotiating contracts, changes and additions with architects, consultants, contractors and suppliers.?

The responsibilities of the role will include:?

  • Manage the full scope of ground up distribution center construction from start to finish on time and on budget to meet operational needs.

  • Manage all existing branch improvement projects. ?Define scope, direct the design, obtain permits, bid contract and manage the coordination of construction amongst Medline?s operating facilities. Work with internal teams and local management to ensure operations are not negatively impacted and optimized at the end of the project.

  • Lead, carefully coordinate and monitor the tasks of design teams, general contractors, vendors and internal stakeholders, ensuring all parties are tracking towards the end goal.

  • Closely monitor General Contractor performance on multiple construction projects.? That includes but is not limited to inspecting the work regularly, monitoring test reports, reviewing submittals and carefully reviewing plans and revisions for adherence to spec and Medline requirements.

  • In addition to construction improvements, lead the coordination of other vendors (rack, low voltage, furniture, etc.) to ensure successful startup. ?Conduct training of Medline staff at the completion of any improvement.

  • Create, maintain and monitor a detailed project schedule, breaking down start and finish dates of specific tasks to coordinate the contractors and our operations.

  • Validate and process GC pay applications and invoices for completed approved work. Track costs against approved project budget.

  • Conduct punch lists, efficiently manage closeout and train operations staff at the completion of a job to ensure seamless turnover and startup.

  • Proactively manage project related issues and mitigate risks.

  • Interact and negotiate with consultants and contractors.

  • Monitor market pricing to ensure national account pricing is as aggressive as it can be. ?Identify opportunities to take advantage of national footprint for buying power.

  • Identify and prequalify new vendors. ?Evaluate existing vendors to ensure service levels exceed our expectations.

  • Assess building assets to ensure top performance. ?Conduct audits to review quality of building systems and components. ?Manage action items as a result of inspection to ensure site systems and components are optimized.

  • Implement standardized programs to ensure high quality is maintained for the life of the building. ?Support existing maintenance protocols for all aspects of a property. This will include roof, floor, joints, pavement, mechanical systems, generators, dock equipment, among others.


  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Civil Engineering preferred.

  • Must have 5-7 years?of field or construction project management experience.

  • Highly motivated, self organized, self starter professionals only are needed for Medline?s fast paced environment.

  • Individuals with a deep sense of pride in the quality of their work with an extreme attention to detail are needed for this exciting role.

  • In depth experience with blue prints, specifications, contract documents, shop drawings, submittals, schedules and all other construction project related documents.

  • Experience managing large projects and multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Proficient in MS Project, Excel and Outlook, AutoCad, Bluebeam.

  • Must be open to traveling up to 40%

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
