Associate Business Analyst - Vendor Rebates

Medline has an immediate opening for an Associate?Business Analyst position on the Vendor Rebates team located at our corporate office in Northfield, IL.? This position is a multi-faceted analytical role within the Distributed Product Division. Primarily, this role is charged with identifying opportunities for efficiency improvement and cost savings across the entire business, with special emphasis on retention of rebate dollars. This will be achieved through the identification and execution of improved divisional data reporting, and through specific analytical projects.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret vendor data and comments on rebate discrepancies

  • Decipher issues causing disputes

  • Identify a wide variety of issues

  • Investigate and identify circumstances surrounding customer contract loading

  • Work to identify process changes to decrease risk

  • Responsible for analysis, reporting, and optimization of the division's rebates

  • Collaborate with vendors to decipher responsibility and close disputes

  • Ability to operate well under pressure and with strict deadlines


  • Bachelor?s degree?

  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling)

  • Advanced quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to analyze reports to identify problems and the root cause of variances and develop suggested corrective action

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, discounts, weighted averages, and other financial and statistics knowledge


  • Bachelor?s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Mathematics or Applied Statistics.

  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Access (for example: designing and creating simple queries, modifying data types, adding dates, working with required fields and/or creating labels).

  • SAP knowledge

  • Customer service experience

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
