HRIS Specialist

The HRIS Specialist provides value to the business by performing a variety of day-to-day administrative Human Resources Information System (HRIS) functions ensuring data integrity and the processing and reporting of HR data. This individual works independently under general direction of the Senior HRIS Manager. In addition, the Specialist handles problems and non-routine situations by determining the approach or action to take and interprets guidelines, procedures, policies, and practices.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare statistical summaries and special reports from the HR systems involving recruitment, compensation, benefit, payroll and employee information.

  • Analyze less complex business problems to be solved with HR systems.

  • Serve as HRIS SME and train other staff in HRIS system and procedures.

  • Act as first-level problem support to all of HR, payroll, recruiting, managers, and employees.

  • Enter HR data into HRIS ensuring all personnel transactions are completed in a timely manner in accordance with Company guidelines.

  • Load pay increase and ELM files and reconcile errors.

  • Ensure data integrity by leading system and data audit initiatives.

  • Develop, maintain and generate standardized HRIS reports; utilize reporting tools to make enhancements or modifications.

  • Create and prepare reports for projects to ensure system and data integrity.

  • Generate and distribute routine and ad-hoc reports; provide analytics as required.

  • Collaborate with HR team members to conduct analysis and provide HR reporting.

  • Participate in projects, system upgrades, and system testing.

  • Identify opportunities for process and data improvements; test solutions and document changes.

  • Present HRIS access recommendations to Senior HRIS Manager.

  • Maintain and update the HRIS procedural guide.

  • Provide clear and concise documentation of internal policies / procedures. Provide formal training sessions as needed.

  • Process confidential employee information and maintain employee records in HRIS.

  • Mentor and contribute to the development of HRIS Coordinators by overseeing data corrections, re-processing benefit events, running and monitoring queries, and processing necessary corrections while collecting supporting documentation.



  • Bachelor?s Degree and at least 2 years of HR data administration and/or analytics experience OR High School diploma/GED and at least 4 years of data administration and/or entry experience

  • Experience diagnosing, isolating, and resolving issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems

  • Experience working with highly confidential and sensitive information

  • Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates

  • Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using AVERAGE function, merging and centering cells, printing centered page and/or creating a pivot table)

  • Experience using formulas and expressions in queries to generate complex reports (organization charts, turnover reports, etc.)

  • HRIS (PeopleSoft) and reporting (Query Manager) software experience preferred

  • PeopleSoft Ben Administration experience preferred

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
