Job Summary
The Contract Specialist is responsible for drafting, managing, redlining, negotiating and finalizing purchasing and/or sales agreements, memorandums of understanding, collaboration agreements and miscellaneous agreements (Contracts).
Core Job Responsibilities
Reviews Contracts and makes recommendations to best protect CAP?s interests and to mitigate risk.
Developing and communicating CAP?s best practice standard terms and conditions for incorporation into Contracts.
Manage CAP?s copyright, trade/service mark, patent filings and registration.
Serve as subject matter expert (SME) on protecting CAP?s Intellectual Property.
Working with CAP?s outside legal counsel, as needed.
Serve as CAP?s main contact for all insurance related and risk management issues.
Working independently through prescribed policies and procedures to solve complex issues with internal customers
Qualifications for this role
Strong knowledge and use of general contract principles.
Adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced environment, able to effectively multi-task, re-prioritize and work proactively and independently to meet deadlines and drive contracts to conclusion.
Knowledge and understanding of legal concepts relating to contract code.
Knowledge and use of general business operations, administration, finance, sales and purchasing principles.
Strong ability to recognize and handle confidential information.
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
Strong analytical skills for organizing, prioritizing, and coordinating information.
Proficiency in MS Office applications
Knowledge of Oracle
Bachelor?s degree in business administration or related field.
Several years paralegal experience in a law firm or corporate legal department
Paralegal certificate preferred

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
